On the afternoon of March 28^th, at Bac Ninh, Industrial Zones Authority of Bac Ninh together with Kinh Bac City Development Holding Corporation organized the conference on investment promotion of Chinese electronics industry. The conference had the participation of: Ms. Nguyen Huong Giang – Deputy Provincial Party Secretary, Chairwoman of People’s Committee; and leaders of local agencies; media of Bac Ninh Province, the leaders of Kinh Bac City Development Holding Corporation, and Presidents and CEOs of nearly 100 Chinese enterprises.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Ms. Nguyen Huong Giang - Chairwoman of People’s Committee of Bac Ninh provice stated: Bac Ninh is a province that has convenient geo - economic location, safe, friendly and attractive business climate, along with the success of FDI enterprises showing that: the decision to invest in Bac Ninh province of Chinese companies in particular and FDI enterprises in general is the right direction, creating large opportunities and potential development. Especially, in current circumstances, Bac Ninh province is the bright spot to attract investment and is an industrial development hub of Vietnam. Currently, there are more than 580 Chinese projects (including Taiwan and Hongkong) invested in Bac Ninh province with the total investment capital of over 3 billion USD. Chinese companies have created jobs for about 42,000 employees in the province, and attracted employees from other provinces and cities, contributed positively to the development in socio-economic of Bac Ninh province.

At present, there are 24 industrial parks being operated in Bac Ninh managed by infrastructure management companies. Among them, Kinh Bac City Development Holding Corporation (KBC) is one of the largest and typical industrial park infrastructure investors at Bac Ninh province with nearly 20 years of experience and reputation in the field of investment, construction and industrial infrastructure business. Currently, KBC is managing nearly 20 big and medium scale industrial park projects in the North, Center and South of Vietnam. In Bac Ninh province alone, KBC has successfully invested 2 industrial parks which are Que Vo IP (611 ha) and Nam Son Hap Linh IP (300 ha) with the investment capital of nearly 3 billion USD. Many large corporations in the world have invested in the abovementioned industrial parks of Kinh Bac, such as: Foxconn, Goertek, Hi-P, Yuto, etc and hundreds of big tenants from countries and territories all around the world. Speaking at the conference, Ms Nguyen Thi Thu Huong – CEO of KBC pledged to give her best support and always accompany investors.

At the event, there were the participation of 4 Associations and Research Institutes, including Shenzen Display Industrial Association – SDIA; Shenzen Connector Industrial Association – SZCIA; Shenzen Special Robot Cable and Wire Association – AZRCA; Guangdong Leading Intelligent Terminal Industry Technology Association and many leaders representing for nearly 100 Chinese enterprises. At the conference, leaders of the Chinese companies gave sincere and frank speeches, shared the opportunities in investment in Bac Ninh, Vietnam. The representatives of the association, research institutes, enterprises from China highly appreciated policy on attracting investors to the industrial parks at Bac Ninh; affirmed that after the conference, the associations together with partners and companies would organize an in-depth survey tour on development status and cooperation opportunities of electronic industry and manufacturing industry chain in the North of Vietnam. This is the opening, promoting connections, seizing the bilateral investment opportunities, business cooperation, technology transferring in Bac Ninh province; further promoting in economic cooperation, trade and investment between China and Vietnam.

At the conference, Chinese enterprises raised many questions related to the procedures on selecting appropriate investment location; conditions on leasing; setting up the company in Vietnam, registration conditions; registration on capital; real salary of officers in developed cities in Vietnam; Vietnamese online sale platforms; tax system, foreign exchange management policies in Vietnam, ect.

Based on the suggestions and questions of enterprises, the Chairwoman Ms. Nguyen Huong Giang speaking at the conference, asked for Industrial Zones Authority, relevant departments and localities to focus on resolving difficulties, meeting requests of investors. Promoting linkages between provincial departments as well as associations, domestic and foreign business club to provide legal support, protect legitimate interests of enterprises. The chairwoman affirmed that Bac Ninh province will focus on reviewing and fulfilling institutions, simplifying administrative procedures in various fields; always listen, receive comments from enterprises in general and China in particular, to create convenient and equal investment environment for long-term business and production enterprises in Bac Ninh.

The 2023 Conference on Promoting Investment in Electronics Industry aimed to strengthen cooperation, economic exchanges and attracting more foreign-invested enterprises to industrial parks. This is also an opportunity to share information about the province’s potentials, strengths, opportunities and investment environment of the province to the community, associations, enterprises and Chinese investors.
