After the consecutive successes of recent investment promotion programs and events, in the afternoon of April 4, 2023, in Bac Ninh city, Kinh Bac City Development Holding Corporation (KBC) and Bac Ninh Industrial Zones Authority held an Investment Promotion Conference with Taiwanese electronics enterprises. The conference was attended by: Ms. Nguyen Huong Giang - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee and leaders of provincial departments; Foreign Investment Department – Ministry of Planning & Investment; Leaders of Kinh Bac City Development Holding Corporation; Leade representatives of some Taiwanese enterprises that have successfully invested in Bac Ninh and nearly 50 electronics enterprises from the Taiwan Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers’ Association (TEEMA).

The conference was attended by more than 100 Taiwanese delegates and enterprises

TEEMA represents electrical and electronic equipment manufacturers in Taiwan with a history of more than 75 years of development and has 3,006 members. The products of the member companies in the Association include 16 major manufacturing fields including: computers and peripherals, communications, semiconductor components, opto-electronics, household electrical appliances, heavy-duty electrical machinery, refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment, lighting equipment, test and measurement instruments, electrical wires and cables, electrical equipment, electronic components, batteries, automotive electronics, etc. This time, the investment survey team of TEEMA enterprises paid a great attention to Vietnam's investment environment. As planned, the delegation has a 6-day business trip to Vietnam from 16 April to 21 April, 2023 to visit and survey the investment environment of many localities in the North such as Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Hai Phong, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Quang Ninh.

Investment promotion conference with Taiwanese electronics enterprises

Bac Ninh is a province with favorable geo-economic location and a safe, friendly and attractive business climate. In this current situation, Bac Ninh province is a bright spot for investment attraction and is also an industrial development center of Vietnam, drawing many FDI investors' attention to come to survey, consider and decide.

At the conference, Bac Ninh province introduced the investment climate and attraction policies to investors and enterprises; listened to proposals, learnt about investment plans of investors and experiences shared by enterprises that have invested in Bac Ninh; at the same time, was ready to openly exchange all the contents of interest to investors, created the best conditions for businesses and investors to find different opportunities to invest in Bac Ninh.

Bac Ninh province currently has 24 industrial zones being operated by infrastructure management companies. Among them, KBC is known as one of the largest and typical industrial park infrastructure investors in Bac Ninh province with more than 20 years of experience and reputation in the field of infrastructure investment, construction and business for Industrial Park. In Bac Ninh province alone, KBC has successfully invested in 2 industrial zones, namely Que Vo Industrial Park (611 ha) and Nam Son - Hap Linh Industrial Park (300 ha), with a total investment capital of nearly 3 billion USD.

Many large corporations in the world have invested in KBC’s Industrial Parks, for example: Foxconn, LGE, LGD, LG Innotek, Canon, Goertek, Hanwha, Luxshare, JA Solar, etc and hundreds of other enterprises from many countries and regions around the world. Regarding Taiwan's investment attraction alone, in addition to Foxconn Group, which has invested in Que Vo Industrial Park (Bac Ninh) and Quang Chau Industrial Park (Bac Giang) with a total investment of nearly 1 billion USD, many projects of Taiwanese investors that have successfully deployed in KBC Industrial Parks are: Cheng Long, Shunsin, Dragon Jet, Longtech, VS, Sentec, Seiyo, Vonmax, HongGuang, I-Sheng, Umec, etc. They have been contributing significantly to the local economic development of Vietnam.

Sharing at the Conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - General Director of KBC was pleased to have the opportunity to exchange and meet with Taiwanese investors in Bac Ninh province this time. KBC and KBC's General Director herself have had a predestined relationship with Taiwanese organizations and enterprises, so KBC always considers Taiwanese investors as close friends. Until now, the Taiwan market has always been focused by KBC and considered as a potential investment market. The Industrial Parks’ advantages of KBC are the distribution from North to South and with a large industrial park land fund and convenient locations. KBC is always confident to offer many options for Taiwanese investors. KBC commits to supporting and always accompanying Taiwanese investors.

On behalf of the investment survey delegation of Taiwanese electronic enterprises, Mr. Chen, Hung-Chin - Chairman of the BOD of WIESON Company, Head of the delegation thanked the respectful and warm welcome of Bac Ninh province and KBC. Mr. Chen highly appreciated the rapid development of Bac Ninh province as well as the achievements in industrial zone development and foreign investment attraction. He suggested that Taiwanese enterprises in this survey delegation should take advantage of the opportunity to survey, exchange information, and seek investment opportunities in Bac Ninh province. In particular, Mr. Chen commended the strong development of KBC and KBC's leadership and staff. He emphasized to Taiwanese investors that KBC is a leading and professional industrial park infrastructure development enterprise in Vietnam and a potential choice for cooperation of Taiwanese investors.

On behalf of the government of Bac Ninh province, speaking at the Conference, Ms. Nguyen Huong Giang - Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee expressed her gratitude to welcome the delegates of the Electromechanical - Electronic Business Association and 42 Taiwanese investors to come to learn about the environment, as well as investment opportunities in Bac Ninh province.

With a favorable economic and geographical location, a safe, friendly and attractive business environment, along with the success of FDI enterprises, the choice of Bac Ninh for investment is an evident for Taiwanese enterprises in particular and FDI enterprises in general and is the right direction, creating many opportunities and potential for development. Bac Ninh province is committed to reforming administrative procedures more strongly; building a safer, more attractive, more transparent and more favorable investment environment for investors. Bac Ninh province will always accompany and consider foreign investment enterprises as an integral part of the economy. Chairman of Bac Ninh province emphasized that Bac Ninh province always considers entrepreneurs and FDI enterprises as close friends; suggest investors to consider Bac Ninh as their second homeland; always share difficulties and problems to solve together.

Up to now, there are 86 Taiwanese investment projects in Bac Ninh province, with a total registered capital of about 666 million USD. Taiwanese enterprises operate effectively in Bac Ninh province and have created jobs for about 20,000 workers in the area, as well as attracted many workers from other provinces, making positive contributions to the socio-economic development of Bac Ninh province.

The investment promotion conference with Taiwanese electronic enterprises held in Bac Ninh this time with an aim to strengthen cooperation relationships, economic exchanges and attract foreign-invested enterprises into Bac Ninh’s industrial parks. This is also an opportunity to share information about the province's potentials, strengths, opportunities and investment environment to the community of Taiwanese organizations, associations, enterprises and investors.
